Nindy Brouwers

Educational & Developmental Psychologist

Nindy (they/them) is an Educational & Developmental Psychologist who is passionate about helping people understand their individual differences and empowering them to live their best lives. Nindy trained in the Netherlands and has worked across educational and private practice contexts since migrating to Australia.

Nindy has a special interest in the intersection between neurodevelopmental differences and trauma and takes care to consider systemic factors in client presentations. Nindy aims to provide clients with a safe and non-judgemental environment to explore their neurotype and mental health and is committed to looking beyond behaviour.

Nindy particularly enjoys using assessments as a therapeutic tool to identify neurodevelopmental differences and to shift unhelpful narratives that children, families, or adults may have been exposed to or are telling themselves. They use a warm, empathic and collaborative approach and consider the client as the expert on themselves, with valuing and validating lived experience an important cornerstone of their practice.

Outside of client practice, Nindy engages in sessional academic work (e.g., lecturing in counselling and psychology programs) and supervision of fellow allied health professionals. In their personal time, Nindy likes to watch Japanese anime, read and write fantasy stories, train in karate, and collect all things Pokémon.

Nindy provides assessments for clients on Mondays.
